Polwarth is a breed developed by crossing Lincoln and Merino sheep during the 1880's in Australia. The breed is 3/4 Merino and 1/4 Lincoln which has resulted in a fabulous wool that has a longer staple with a soft squishy hand making it fabulous for hand spinning and felting.

On a side note, isn't 'squishy' a wonderfully technical term.  Just think about it for a moment and then why not try Deep Dyed Yarns squishy, gradient polwarth!
